Atlanta: Dinner at Atlas with Wine Pairing

On Thursday night, we had dinner at Atlas. They were recently awarded a Michelin star. My wife and I were honored to attend the inaugural 2023 Michelin Guide Ceremony at the Rialto Theatre (in downtown Atlanta) where the winners were announced! Prior to that, the Michelin guide had never ranked restaurants in Atlanta.

Our weeknight dinner at Atlas was really good. We tried the “Chef’s Tasting Menu” and tried their mid level “Timeless Wine Pairing” Also offered was the entry level “Classic” pairing and the higher level customized pairing called “Grand Cru”.

Comparing this experience with our recent Lazy Better dinner and pairing, I would say that Atlas wins on food and wine pairing, but Lazy Betty wins on atmosphere. As the night progressed at Atlas, patrons near the bar area got increasingly louder, ruining the dining atmosphere for us. We preferred Lazy Betty’s intimate atmosphere.

Other than that, the food and wine pairing was very nice. WOTN for me was the 2022 Olivier Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc Les Sétilles. We had an issue with one of the red wines, which felt a bit pask peak, but once I brought it to the Somm's attention he brought a different wine to replace it which I greatly appreciated.

And so, congratulations to Atlas on being one of Atlanta's first Michelin star ratings. Definitely check them out if you're in Atlanta.
