Atlanta: Dinner at Lazy Betty with Wine Pairing
On Saturday night, we had dinner at Lazy Betty. In case you haven't heard the news, they were recently awarded a Michelin star. My wife and I were honored to attend the inaugural 2023 Michelin Guide Ceremony at the Rialto Theatre (in downtown Atlanta) where the winners were announced! Prior to that, the Michelin guide had never ranked restaurants in Atlanta.
Just before the ceremony started, we met Ron Hsu, Chef of Lazy Betty (super nice and impressive guy!), and soon after we finished talking we made a reservation to his restaurant.
Our dinner at Lazy Betty was great. The food was the star of the show, and the atmosphere and service were wonderful. We both did the seven course tasting menu, with me going with the wine pairing. To be honest, there were some issues for me with the wine pairing. I'm all for unique and interesting pairings, but there were zero dry white wines and the flight was heavy on the sparkling/dessert wines (not my favorite types of wine). WOTN was the 2019 Tait The Wild Ride Shiraz blend.
All in all, food and service were great, the pairing just needed some tweaks.
And so, congratulations to Lazy Betty on being one of Atlanta's first Michelin star ratings. Definitely check them out if you're in Atlanta.
Over next few weeks we're going to try The Chastain, Atlas and Little Bear!
