Single Thread - Our First Michelin 3 Star Experience!

Our first Michelin 3 star restaurant!

On the fifth day of our trip to Napa in late 2022, my wife Dio and I drove over the Mayacamas Mountains to Healdsburg to dine at Single Thread!

The best way to describe the experience was a finely tuned well orchestrated symphony! It was just dizzying to watch the six or so people that served our table and the tables around us. The food, service and atmosphere was really really good and I also splurged and got the reserve wine pairing.

My favorite wine (paired with Wagyu) was the 2017 Alain Michelot Charrieres Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru. I also got to try the 2003 Dom Perignon Plentitude 2 and the 2006 Chateau d'Yquem. Honestly, I was underwhelmed with both of those. I guess I was expecting more based on the names or maybe it's my palate? Not sure. But overall the pairings were really good. The table next to us ordered a bottle of Littorai at the server's recommendation and after that I kind of wish I had skipped the reserve wine pairing and just ordered what I knew I would like! But overall what a great experience! I highly recommend that everyone that can experience Single Thread!
